Weather has been a big issue here in Virginia lately! I knew that if Chelsea & Nick booked their wedding at Lewis Ginter, then they wanted to have their ceremony outside in that stunning rose garden! But as we got closer and closer to the big day, the forecast didn’t look great. In fact, the radar showed a big old patch of green moving over RVA right as the ceremony was set to begin. Chelsea, however, had faith. As we were taking photos after the First Look and marveling at how it was dark and ominous but NOT raining, Nick said, “That’s just how lucky Chelsea is.” Then he thought for a moment and said, “Well no, it’s not luck. I really think that she believes in things so much that they just . . . happen.”
And it worked! The clouds were there, but the rain never came. Chelsea & Nick were married in the rose garden, and as dinner began inside, the sun came out. It was just for a minute or two, but I think it was a nod to Chelsea for believing. 🙂
We started the day with a few drizzles, but luckily we were inside Elle Style Studio’s gorgeous new space!
When Riverwood Designs brought these bouquets in, we all FREAKED OUT!!
I mean LOOK at those peonies!!!
How cute are these two??
Chelsea. You ARE a princess!
After some joyful, tearful getting ready photos, we headed to Lewis Ginter to beat the rain for the First Look!
It was worth all the waiting. 🙂
Also just a note: if you watch Scandal, then you know that Chelsea’s sister, Brooke, IS Mellie Grant.
Viv & Blake were practicing their flower girl/ring bearer duties before the ceremony. And I am #blessed because Blake “gave” me a ring. He said I could have one because I was pretty. Cutest complimenter ever, am I right?!
This rose garden was worth the risk of rain!!
After the ceremony, it was STILL not raining, so we got to snag some portraits in the rose garden!
Everyone took a turn snuggling with this cutie. 🙂
Nick and his mom had a dance off for their mother/son dance!
See? Everyone got a Viviane snuggle.
And just like that . . . Chelsea and Nick were off to their honeymoon! With one final princess wave, of course. 😉
Chelsea & Nick,
Thank you for taking me on this journey with you!! It was so much fun to get to be a part of your wedding. I had my own ginger groom AND a princess bride on the royal wedding day . . . and I think mine was better!! 🙂
