Historic Mankin Mansion Wedding | Samantha & Reilly

Apr 17

The first wedding of 2018 is going to be hard to beat!  I love a Historic Mankin Mansion wedding, but when there’s SNOW in APRIL . . . . that’s one for the history books.  I had been watching the weather somewhat obsessively and praying it wouldn’t rain all day as expected.  “Samantha and Reilly deserve a nice, dry day,” I kept telling God.  He totally listened.  🙂  We had a lot of clouds, but no rain!  Luckily, Sam and Reilly did make the decision to move their ceremony inside so their guests wouldn’t freeze!  Soon after the first dance though, the clouds got darker and it started to SNOW.  I mean, it was really coming down!  But everyone was so busy dancing their hearts out to the Backstreet Boys, they barely noticed.  😉

We started our day in the nice, warm bridal suite!

Do you recognize Samantha’s maid of honor??  It’s Lindsay, a 2015 SDP Bride!!

Before the First Look, I got to hang with Reilly for a bit!

He took a moment to admire her dress, then we all took a moment to admire that it wasn’t raining!

I think everyone was grateful to be inside, especially since Mankin’s ceremony space is so beautiful!

After family photos, it was time to celebrate!

Parks & Rec references will always have my heart. 😉

All of these cake stands are family heirlooms!

I loved getting to see Lindsay make a speech for her best friend!

With Martin at the DJ booth, the dance floor got started and was NEVER empty!

BLESS Sam & Reilly for trusting me when I took them away from the party for an epic snow shot.  Guys, you broke my Instagram record for likes on a wedding photo!!

When Martin announced the last song, Sam looked so genuinely sad that I got tears in my eyes.  I didn’t want it to be over, either!!  But I have a feeling there are a lot of dances in their future.  🙂

Sam & Reilly,

Thank you so much for making me a part of your wedding day!  It was such an honor to get to know you and be there for your big day!

xoxo, Shalese
