If you read Monday’s post or saw my Snapchats, you know how over the MOON I was to have a reason to go back to my beloved JMU! When Marly & Jeremy told me they met at James Madison University, I said, “You know, we COULD do your engagement session at JMU . . . ” and they were like, “REALLY?!” I had been counting down the days until our nostalgic return to the most wonderful place on Earth. 🙂
When we met in front of Wilson Hall, Marly, Jeremy, their sweet dog, Maddie, and I were so excited that we were THERE! It was so crazy to see all of the purple cap and gown clad seniors running around the Quad taking their last photos together. As we hit all of their favorite spots, I got to see JMU through Marly & Jeremy’s eyes. They kissed on the Kissing Rock (which obviously worked out well for them!), had picnics on the ISAT lawn, admired the mountain views, and fell in love, all nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Enjoy some of my favorites! It was hard not to blog them ALL . . .
How cute is Maddie?? She was the first dog I ever got to play fetch with on the Quad! She’s also an excellent poser when you’re holding her tennis ball. 😉
The legend with the JMU Kissing Rock is that if you kiss on this rock, you’ll be together forever. For these two, it worked. 🙂
The Wilson steps are iconic in the Duke world! AH!
Fun Fact: These were taken under the arches of Keezell Hall, the English building where I spent many, many hours of my life. 🙂 I’m OBSESSED with these!
We also stopped at Burruss Hall, where Marly & Jeremy had many classes as well! Then, we stopped in the bus lane and jumped out of Marly’s car to take some quick shots in front of the ISAT building!
We ended the evening in the Arboretum where these two would spend warm afternoons together. While we were devastated that the Weeping Willow has disappeared (WHY, JMU, why?!), it’s still beautiful. 🙂
How adorable are these two?? I’m still in love with the fact that Marly emailed me about 10 different outfit combos to help decide! AND she had a flower crown made by Strawberry Fields, Flowers and Finds!
I could have stayed to wander around campus all evening, but all good things come to an end!
Marly & Jeremy,
Thank you SO much for giving me an excuse to make my favorite drive! I LOVED getting to spend more time with you!!
